Dr. Terry Teo

Hi, I'm Dr. Terry

I’ve been a dentist for almost 20 years, and loved every moment of it.

I graduated from the National University of Singapore’s Faculty of Dentistry in 2005, and became a Dental Officer at both the School Dental Service and KK Woman and Children’s Hospital.

In 2008, I was awarded a training scholarship by the Ministry of Health for a 3-year Doctor of Paediatric Dentistry Specialisation Programme at the University College of London.

I returned to government service in Singapore after my specialist training in 2011 and worked at the National Dental Centre’s Paediatric Dentistry Department.

In 2014 I embarked on my own journey into private practice, while also returning to my alma mater NUS as a part time tutor to the dentistry undergraduate students.

I have thus spent the last decade of my career both teaching and practicing the depth and breadth of children’s dentistry, watching both my tiny patients grow up to become young adults, and my students mature to become trusted colleagues.

Clinical practice is alive and evolving; apart from the unique rapport each patient forms with their dentist, every dentist develops an individual practicing style and strategy. My main area of focus is on Minimal Intervention Dentistry for cavity treatment, using techniques and materials to minimise traumatic and invasive procedures such as extractions in children. Safety, speed and effectiveness of treatment is my priority.

My other passion is in interceptive orthodontics, to guide developing jaws and teeth into better alignment. Apart from the traditional orthodontic appliances I use for this, I am also an Invisalign Platinum Elite Provider, harnessing the very latest in imaging and clear-aligner technology to help children achieve their best smiles.

To date, I have performed over thousands of cases of oral rehabilitation under sedation or general anaesthesia, and helped hundreds of children improve the alignment of their teeth. Throughout all this, I have helped countless more young persons overcome a fear of dentists and develop lifelong positive dental attitudes.

“Safety, speed and effectiveness of treatment is my priority.”

I am the Paediatric Dental Specialist consultant on-call at the Paediatric Accident and Emergency Department and Paediatric Wards of the following hospitals:
